Dell Taps Premier LogiTech for Fort Worth ISD Laptop Rollout
Fort Worth ISD Begins Equipping Students With Laptops
Grand Prairie, TX, January 15, 2015 – Dell looked to Premier LogiTech for an important, fast-turn project deploying laptops to Fort Worth schools. Dell is providing Dell Latitude laptops and carrying cases. Premier was their partner of choice to provide the services: etching, imaging, asset tagging, prepping and deployment.
“We are pleased to work with Dell and Fort Worth ISD on this important initiative. Rolling out the initial 10,000 systems over the next two months for our clients, Dell and Fort Worth ISD, gives the students a head start on their future, said Darryl Smith, CEO of Premier LogiTech. “And who knows,” he continued, “maybe we are equipping the students to be our future employees.”
Working together, the Dell/Premier LogiTech team were able to put together a comprehensive solution for Fort Worth ISD. “During the initial call, we were able to understand their needs and provide solutions on the spot for their concerns. Since our team has worked on so many deployments we are able to respond quickly and efficiently. This solution will enable Fort Worth ISD to provide technology to all of their high school students,” concluded Mr. Smith.
The Fort Worth ISD is presenting a new 1:1 digital initiative called Dig In. 1:1 stands for “one to one” – one device for every student. Once Dig In is fully implemented across the district, all students will be equipped with access to information and the best learning tools modern technology has to offer. This initiative goes well beyond simply handing devices to students – it’s about preparing Fort Worth ISD students to succeed in the 21st century, compete globally and be responsible, informed digital citizens.
Dig In is structured around the conviction that there should be equity in digital access. It is the responsibility of the Fort Worth ISD to ensure the competency of its students in this ever evolving, increasingly relevant medium. It is imperative for the success of FWISD, Fort Worth and beyond that we educate our students to become digitally literate, critical thinkers and problem solvers, able to engage the world around them through clear, effective communication.
